TrueAligner Clear Aligners

What are TrueAligners?

Our invisible aligner therapy includes several sets of tight-fitting, custom-made clear plastic aligners that gradually shift teeth into their desired position.

How do TrueAligner invisible aligners straighten teeth?

Our invisible aligners come as a set of multiple aligners. Each aligner will make slight adjustments to tooth position, a process that is mapped out in advance by a TrueAligner affiliated licensed dental professional who reviews your case. You’ll begin wearing a new set of aligners as prescribed, advancing you to the next stage of your new smile. We make it even easier by shipping your aligners directly to you.

Are TrueAligner invisible aligners trimmed in a scalloped fashion or straight across?

TrueAligner invisible aligners are trimmed in a straight fashion across the top, allowing us to get optimal turning force to straighten your teeth. This also eliminates the need for buttons or attachments, which are generally considered unsightly or uncomfortable.

How do I know if I’m right for TrueAligner invisible aligners?

Every TrueAligner order begins with a Smile Assessment and 3D scan to determine if you are a smile candidate. The TrueAligner aligner system is designed for minor, moderate and complex teeth corrections, including gaps between teeth, crowding, rotations, and some bite correction.

Does TrueAligner treat patients directly?

No. TrueAligner manufactures aligners based on prescriptions from dentists and orthodontists. You and your doctor play the biggest role in ensuring the success of your treatment.

How long does the treatment take?

This varies from patient to patient. The licensed dentist or orthodontist assigned to you will determine the best plan for your needs. Treatment can take anywhere from a few months to a few years, depending on the complexity of the case, but we straighten most smiles in an average of 9-12 months.

How long do I need to wait after having my wisdom teeth removed before I can start with TrueAligner?

Typically, you will need to wait six weeks after having your third molars (or wisdom teeth) extracted before starting with TrueAligner.

What if I still have my wisdom teeth?

If your dentist has recommended removal of wisdom teeth then please follow that direction. Otherwise, you can book a scan with one of our partnered licensed dental professionals, who will review your smile for you. And if it is determined that TrueAligner treatment isn’t right for you, we will let you know.

Am I a candidate for TrueAligner if I have an implant?

Our aligners can work for some customers who have missing teeth. Our dental professionals assess these situations on a case-by-case basis as a part of the first step in our process.

Does TrueAligner guarantee perfect results?

It’s impossible to guarantee the outcome of any orthodontic treatment. However, the majority of patients do experience significant improvement in their smiles, Results may vary from patient to patient.

Treatment Process

Does a licensed dentist or orthodontist review my case?

Yes. Your new smile will be reviewed, modified (if necessary), and approved by a licensed dentist or orthodontist.

How long is the typical treatment process?

The licensed dentist or orthodontist assigned to you will determine the best plan for your needs, but we straighten most smiles in an average of 9-12 months.

Why do I need aligners for both arches if I only want to change one?

Fixing crowding or spacing may change your bite. In order to maintain a correct bite, both upper and lower teeth need to be taken into account as a part of your smile plan. In some cases, correcting only a single arch could result in your teeth shifting back to their original positions. In order to safely get – and keep – the smile you’ll love, it’s important to use aligners on both arches.

Can I use TrueAligner invisible aligners on only my upper or lower teeth?

Fixing crowding or spacing issues changes your bite. In order to maintain a correct bite, both upper and lower teeth need to be taken into account as a part of your treatment plan. Additionally, only correcting a single arch may result in your teeth shifting back to their original positions. For these reasons, all plans include both upper and lower arches.

How do I use my chewies?

We include chewies with your aligners to help you get a tighter fit. Simply insert your aligners, put your chewie between your teeth and chew as if it were a piece of gum.

Will my teeth hurt during treatment?

Much like the days after a good workout at the gym, most people experience some tooth soreness for a few days after wearing new aligners. This is perfectly normal. It is a sign that your aligners are working, gently moving your teeth to their final destination. This soreness should gradually go away after the first few days of wearing new aligners. If the pain doesn’t go away or is getting worse, give your TrueAligner dental provider a visit or contact our customer care team.

How often should I wear my aligners?

Wear your aligners all the time as directed by your prescribed smile plan (20 to 22 hours a day). Take them out for eating, drinking sugary drinks, flossing and brushing your teeth.

What happens if I lose an aligner?

If you lose one of your aligners, you will need to order a replacement right away. The cost for replacements is only $50 per tray. Your replacement aligner will generally ship within 7 to 10 business days of placing the order. During that time, you will need to wear the previous aligner to ensure that your teeth do not shift back to their original position. To order a replacement aligner please call your TrueAligner providing clinic.

How do I preserve my new smile after treatment?

As with any orthodontic treatment, you’ll need to wear a retainer regularly to maintain your new smile. You’ll wear your retainers 24 hours a day (except for eating and drinking) for the first two weeks. After that, you’ll want to wear your retainers only while you sleep. We recommend replacing your retainers every six months to keep them fresh.
